How it Works
STEP 1
Transaction is performed using the 123MobilePay solution.
The credit card is swiped or can be entered manually (in the case of an unreadable card). The information is sent via the wireless network to an 123MobilePay certified payment gateway.
123MobilePay software features allow you to choose from the following options:
- Cash Receipt - use our software to give your customers a receipt when they pay by cash (No Network Used)
- Order/Invoice Number Entry
- Tip Entry
- Other Amount Entry
- Disable Refund
New Features in 123MobilePay J2ME v2.5:
- Authorization Only transaction capability
- Simplified amount entry screens
- Additional security with entry of last four digits for swiped card transactions
Security Features:
- Last four digits of swiped card must be entered and match data on magnetic strip of credit card
- SSL 128 Bit Encryption for all payment transactions
- Refund can be disabled on individual phones
- Authorization Only can be disabled on individual phones
- Additional network error checking
123MobilePay LITE: Similar to 123MobilePay in many aspects, the process follows the same steps to perform your transaction. 123MobilePay LITE is restricted to manual "keyed" entry only.
STEP 2
Information is sent to the financial processor via the payment gateway.
Once received by the payment gateway, the transaction information is processed and forwarded to the financial institution for processing.
With every 123MobilePay account, a customer has the ability to access their payment account from any internet ready computer. Simply enter your password and user name to gain access to a wealth of useful tools.
Enjoy such features as:
- Automatic batch closure - batch total reports come right to your e-mail!
- Monitoring of your current batch
- Activity reporting - information held indefinitely
- Individual unit reporting included for multi-unit customers
- Perform transactions via the "on-line terminal"
- Tie your shopping cart right to your website (optional) and much more...
STEP 3
Financial processor replies with the transaction response.
The financial institution processes the transaction information received and returns a response code. (AUTHORIZED, DECLINED, or various other response codes)
NO STORE AND FORWARD - REAL-TIME TRANSACTIONS ONLY! Know at the point-of-sale if the transaction was authorized or declined, don't take risks with your hard earned money!
STEP 4
The final step is the transaction response sent to the 123MobilePay solution.
The response code is logged at the payment gateway under your account and the final transaction information is sent to the 123MobilePay solution.
Once received by the 123MobilePay solution, the response code is displayed on your cell phone's screen (AUTH VI03245 = Visa, Authorization code 03245), it's that simple.
If you opted for a swipe/printer solution, the system will print out both the merchant and customer receipt to complete the transaction.
All Transactions sent via the gateway are sent to your email address as well as the end of day batch.
Merchants can log on to the 123mobilepay Gateway and view transactions through out the day via the internet
